Monday, 10th – Friday, 14th November

Sorry for the delay in posting last week’s blog.  We now have a team of students and staff looking at our website with a view to making it more interactive and attractive.  This results in the original site being closed down on occasions.  So if you encounter this please go back at a later time.  This past week has been busy with the last of the teacher away days on Monday looking at our possible plans for a curriculum for excellence and finalizing our new aims and values.  On Tuesday evening I and R. Munro hosted our skills evening.  This went down very well with the 14 people that were there.  However, it does beg the question if this is needed.  The parents there were astonished at the low turn out and I have to say that we were disappointed given the amount of work we had put into the evening.  Answers on a post card please if you have any suggestions!  We will put together a synopsis of the suggestions and discussions and deliver this with the next newsletter.  On Thursday, we had our cluster meeting.  I really think there is a real opportunity to develop our working practice including staff exchanges.  Two of our teachers from CDT attended East Linton primary to help with a project they are doing on wind power.  This went down very well and I am certain that we can do more in this area.  I attended the auditions for our S5/S6 school show and was impressed by the standard. On Friday we had one of our very successful dress-down days for Children in Need.  The final figure raised will be revealed on Monday but well done to everyone involved.  S4 are off on work experience next week and then they are into prelims.  Hopefully I will be able to post this week but make sure you didn’t miss last week’s blog which was also just posted today.
